Our Story
Chiff Chaffs are a Belgian band based in Courtrai and Tournai, consisting of Gilles 'King Rat' Deschamps, Autys Toxico, Jantie Flyer and Nolf Kaka. Formed in mid 2020 during the pandemic and various lockdowns, the band has had time to develop a unique and distinctive sound that will appeal to many people in the underground circuit.
The band members all come from very different musical backgrounds, but once they started playing together they found that it meshed so well and sounded unique, even though the main idea was to make raw 60s punk, chopped up with instrumentals and hipshakin' tracks from the 50s. The result is music that is an eclectic mix, ranging from breakneck speeds to broken-hearted beats, from raw instrumentals to multi-voiced screams, going from sad to angry to ectatic in less than 60 seconds.
Chiff Chaffs released a 7" EP on Hopvil Records (BE) in 2021, and a year later, in 2022, the first debut album saw the light of day on Trashwax Records (NL), which is now in its second pressing (sold out in about 5 weeks and is the fastest selling item in the label's back catalogue). This year two tracks from the album were released on a Hyperloop Records (UK) 7". It was released in a packed cinema. It was accompanied by 2 full animated video clips and extra visuals on the big screen during a live gig. The single received airplay on the BBC, twice on Spanish National Radio and on New York City FM radio, curated by Howard Thompson (Howard has made records with Adam & the Ants, Alan Vega, Eddie & the Hot Rods, Motörhead, Roky Erickson & the Aliens,...). This year, in 2024, a brand new maxi 12" EP with 4 new tracks recorded at Swampland Studio in Toulouse will be released on Trashwax Records.
Chiff Chaffs had the chance to play a lot of gigs in Belgium as support for bands like Batmobile, Reverend Beat-Man, Restless, The Cavemen, Nestter Donuts, Guana Batz,... and already played a few times outside Belgium and on festivals in neighbouring countries (France, Netherlands, Germany, We're Loud Festival Italy...).
Later this year, the band will play in the UK and on the west coast of the USA, and the recording of the second album will happen soon too.

Mister groove himself will curse your hips so they can stop shakin' no more! For some it's heaven, for others an eternal hell. Nevertheless, he's the groove boy!

Jantie 'The Greiter' Flyer is the one headed, two armed and two legged monster behind the skins.
Ferocious tattoo artist, illustrator and would laugh even with the death of his own children! You can hear him from far, with or without drums!
Nolf kaka
ORGAN
Legend has it that this creature is a thousand years old, from the land of a thousand dances, and that its organ is actually a thousand years older. But don't be fooled, this creature will tear you to pieces! And if he doesn't, it means his radio waves will grab you by the throat.
